Artist Spotlight: Tai Xiangzhou

Bridging ancient Chinese philosophy and contemporary art, Tai Xiangzhou’s ink paintings draw from Daoist cosmology and the shan-shui (mountain-water) tradition. His Cosmic Symphonies series translates the Five Elements into visual form, revealing the cyclical balance and transformation at the heart of nature.
Integrating traditional philosophy with modern scientific thought, Tai’s work explores materiality, form, and the connection between the celestial and terrestrial realms.
A scholar as well as an artist, Tai earned his Ph.D. at Tsinghua University and has exhibited internationally, including at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Hunan Museum.
