2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the Palais Garnier, and the Opera National de Paris with AROP launched PROJECT 12, a unique artist residency in the heart of this iconic landmark.
So far, artists including Dhewadi Hadjab, Petrit Halilaj, Omar Ba, GaHee Park, Emma Webster, Spencer Sweeney, and Cy Gavin have immersed themselves in rehearsals, performances, and the Opera’s daily life, creating works inspired by this extraordinary space.
The residency continues for the rest of the year, with more artists set to join, and all 12 creations will be auctioned in 2026 to support contemporary artistic creation and the Opera’s legacy.
A living dialogue between past and present, PROJECT 12 proves that the Palais Garnier is not just a historic monument, but a vibrant space of inspiration and creation.
